The typical Rococo design of the two-century old MARLY pattern with its scrolling leaves and cabochon, the later allowing for the addition of coats of arms or monogramming of initials, derives its name from the Chateau de Marly located outside of Paris, a castle built under Louis XIV.
The low relief design can be highlighted in gold for greater contrast. The pattern is also offered in .925 sterling silver, gilt relief and vermeil. The Sun King used to say that “Versailles is for the Court, Trianon for my family and Marly for my friends”.
For every cutlery pattern the price refers to a Pacific Place Setting of 7 pieces (Place Setting is composed of a soup spoon, main fork, main knife, dessert spoon, tea spoon and a dessert/entree fork and knife).
